The Sea Kayak Georgia School of Coastal Paddlesports provides quality instruction and long-term development for paddlers of every level. Whether you are a complete beginner or an aspiring guide, countless benefits come from working with a professional instructor.
Our Philosophy
We work with individuals and groups to formulate an "Action
Plan"—determining the safest, most fun, and most efficient way to achieve
your goals. Our curriculum is based on the syllabus standards of the American Canoe Association (ACA),
British Canoeing, and our own SKG leadership awards.
Our Facility
Classrooms: Two on-site classrooms for discussing weather, tides, currents, and navigation.
Showroom: The perfect place to discuss gear, board design, and boat fit.
Water Access: Following orientation, we have immediate access to the water for practical training and demonstrations.
We schedule times and programs to match your available dates.
From January to December, we build courses around your calendar.

Instruction is the fastest way to get where you want to go. We will work with you starting at your current level and provide a path that leads to your full potential.
Introduction Courses: The place to start. Build a solid foundation of safety and strokes.
Intermediate Courses: Focus on technical understanding, efficiency, and fluidity.
Advanced Courses: Paddling in surf, beach landings, rough water rescues, towing, and total environmental awareness.
Sea Kayak Surfing Intro: Skills and etiquette needed to play safely in the surf zone.
Sea Kayak Surfing Refinement: Moving beyond the basics for better control.
Navigation & Tides: A mix of on-water and classroom work for local paddling knowledge.
Rolling Clinics: From learning your first roll to fine-tuning a bombproof roll.
Seasonal Note: During the cooler months (November–March), rolling sessions are offered in an indoor pool .

SUP Intro
Designed to introduce the participant to sufficient skills and knowledge to
enjoy the sport in a calm, flat-water setting.
SUP Level II
Develop and refine the skills needed to paddle effectively in conditions
where wind, waves, and current are present. This course also includes
deep-dive knowledge on board design and equipment.
SUP Surf
This course introduces paddlers to surf zone site assessment, ocean safety,
and surfing techniques with an emphasis on fun. We focus on proper surf
zone etiquette and the "Aloha spirit."
We will schedule courses to match your available dates and times.
Canoe Basics
Designed for beginners or those just getting started. We cover the
fundamental paddling skills needed to be safe, comfortable, and confident
in a canoe.
Stroke Refinement
For paddlers wanting to fine-tune their technique. Whether you paddle solo or tandem, our instructors will help you increase your efficiency and boat control.
Group & Scout Programs
We offer customized private instruction for Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and
school groups. These programs can range from single-day introductions to
multi-day progressions.
